== Getting Started ==

= Installation =

1. In your admin panel, go to Appearance -> Themes and click the Add New button.

2. Click Upload and Choose File, then select the theme's .zip file. Click Install Now.

3. Click Activate to use your new theme right away.

= Custom Menus =

Jomsom theme supports four custom menus that is primary, secondary, header right and footer menus.

To create a custom menu, go to Appearance -> Menus in your dashboard.

= Featured Image =

This theme relies heavily on Featured Images. If your post/page is missing a Featured Image, the post image will not show up on homepage, on archived pages and on Featured Page Slider, Featured Post Slider and Featured Category Slider. If you are migrating your old site to this new them then you need to regenerate thumbnails. You can do that easily with this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/. This plugin allows you to regenerate your thumbnails after changing the thumbnail sizes, which occurs by switching from one theme to another.

= Featured Slider =

In Jomsom theme, there is option to select slider type from Featured Page Slider, Featured Post Slider, Featured Category Slider and Featured Image slider.

To add featured image slider,

1. Go to "Appearance -> Customize -> Featured Carousel Slider Options" from your WordPress Dashboard

3. Under Featured Carousel Slider Type, you need to select "Featured Image Slider"

4. Then you can change the number of slides, upload images, add in links, title, content as per your need

4. Finally, click on "Save & Publish"

To add featured page slider,

1. Create a Page and then add Featured Image to the Page.

2. Go to "Appearance -> Customize -> Featured Carousel Slider Options" from your WordPress Dashboard

3. Under Featured Carousel Slider Type, you need to select "Featured Page Slider"

4. Then you can change the number of slides and select your pages in "Featured Page #"

4. Finally, click on "Save & Publish"

To add featured post slider,

1. Create a Post and then add Featured Image to the Post.

2. Go to "Appearance -> Customize -> Featured Carousel Slider Options" from your WordPress Dashboard

3. Under Featured Carousel Slider Type, you need to select "Featured Post Slider"

4. Then you can change the number of slides and add in Post ID in "Featured Post #"

4. Finally, click on "Save & Publish"

To add featured category slider,

1. Create a Post and then add Featured Image to the Post.

2. Go to "Appearance -> Customize -> Featured Carousel Slider Options" from your WordPress Dashboard

3. Under Featured Carousel Slider Type, you need to select "Featured Category Slider"

4. Then you can change the number of slides and select categories in "Select Categories"

4. Finally, click on "Save & Publish"

Note: You can also change Enable Slider, slider effects, delay and length under Featured Carousel Slider Settings.

= Social Icons =

Jomsom has social icons for various social networking sites.

1. Go to "Appearance -> Customize -> Social Links" form your WordPress Dashboard

2. Add in your social profile links and click on "Save & Publish"

Note: By default social links will be added in Header Right Section. You can also add that in your sidebar from "Appearance -> Widgets"

== Disabling CT: Advertisement Widget on 404 pages ==

In this theme, you have the choice to disable/enable ads in your 404 Page. A 404 page is what a user sees when they try to reach a non-existent page on your site. It can either be because they clicked a broken link, the page has been deleted or they’ve mistyped a URL. When your site displays a third party advertising network(s)/site(s) in, this is considered framing content. Placing Google ads on such pages is strictly prohibited and if done, it is adjudged as a violation. However, most affiliate links and sponsored posts from trustworthy source, as long as your site’s primary purpose is to create original content, and not merely to send traffic to these sites. So it is recommended to disable your ad widget if you don’t have an extensive knowledge of the guidelines and consequences for 404 pages.
